The peasant movement of present-day of India moves towards the Champaran Satyagraha.
After 49 days of the agitation, instead of understanding the problem of
farmers, our movement is being misquoted by our government. Now the farmers
have been dragged to court. So now it is time for us to gripe history. You will
be aware of the name of Champaran Satyagraha, if you do not know then know. You
must have known about Mahatma Gandhi, who is called by the name of Father of
India, if you do not even know him, then know. As soon as you try to learn
about Mahatma Gandhi, you will have met Champaran Satyagraha.
The Champaran Satyagraha was a movement associated with the peasants of
Bihar who Mahatma Gandhi and his supporters became peasant heroes. The land
agent of Bihar and British ruler were in the role of villains. Mahatma Gandhi
and his supporters in Bihar together solved the agrarian dispute that has been
going on in Bihar from 135 years. The land agent of Bihar and British rulers
were compelled to kneel to give decisions in favor of the farmers. Mahatma Gandhi and his farmer supporters did not find success without great
effort in Champaran, but for this they had to struggle a lot. Mahatma Gandhi
and his pro-farmer peasants of Bihar had to go to jail and eat sticks from the
police department of British and land agent. No one should ask us for evidence on the fact that the farmers had lost
their lives.
Even today, the story of the farmers of India is similar to that of the Champaran
Satyagraha’s farmers. If it is not, then one thing is clear that the farmers of
India do not have to agitate with their wife and children in such a harsh cold
near Delhi. It has been 49 days for a farmer agitating near Delhi. In those
days, any government which was beneficial to the farmers would have agreed. But the government of Narendra Modi of India is not taking pity on the
farmers even after the agitation by the farmers in the bitter cold. Despite
this, now the Modi’s government has dragged the farmers to the court. Farmer
people will also know what they are going to get from the court. At least now
the Modi’s government needs to
understand that if their agricultural laws are beneficial for the farmers then
why has it been required to force them on the farmers? Good thing if not today
then tomorrow will be right.
But the Modi government is in the process of enforcing all three of its
agricultural laws on farmers as soon as possible. Not only this, this law was
passed like the Demonetisation without any debate in the Parliament House,
After all why? Was there no need for the consent of the peasants of India in
this law, if there was no difference between the thinking and the villains of the
Champaran Satyagraha (British rule and the landlords of Bihar)? The rule of Champaran Satyagraha, the British rulers and the land agents of
Bihar, made it mandatory for farmers to cultivate indigo. Together these two
never asked the farmers of Bihar what do you want, farmer brothers? He was only
getting the farmers to cultivate indigo and was giving peasants harm to the
farmers according to his mind.
Today's Delhi has a lot of similarity between the agitating farmers and the
farmers of Champaran Satyagraha. If there is a difference, it is only that at
that time there was British rule at the center and at this time Narendra Modi
belongs to. The land lord was also the wealthiest person of the country at that
time and the land lord of today's India is also the wealthiest person in the
country. Even after 49 days of the movement, Narendra Modi's government has failed
to understand the agony of farmers till date. On the other hand, the farmers
who are agitating near Delhi are also forget understand to Modi and these are
standing on the road with their rights in so cold weather. After so many days
it is very difficult to say what will be the end result of the agitation of the
farmers of India.
