The efforts of farmers from Punjab and other states of India, who have been agitating near Delhi, the capital of India, against the three new agricultural laws implemented by the central government, have now moved towards taking a new turn. It has been 55 days since the movement of these farmers, but so far the three agricultural laws have not changed completely. And given the current situation of the agitating farmers, in the times ahead, there is no option other than just waiting for the farmers.
The latest news is that from 12 noon on Tuesday, 19 January, the meeting between the government and farmers on the three new agricultural laws has been stopped at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi. The reason for this has not been known yet, but a meeting between the farmers' organizations and the government is now scheduled to be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, January 20. It may be known that there have been nine rounds of meetings between the government and the farmers before this, but so far neither the government nor the people have tried to resolve the matter in these meetings.
In earlier meetings, the central government of Narendra Modi has always been proposing amendments in all three agricultural laws, but the central government is infuriated about the abolition of laws. On the other hand, in these meetings, the farmer leaders talk about the withdrawal of all the three laws and the peasants are agitated by the government amending the laws. Such meetings between the Modi government and agitating farmers do not show any positive results at present. In such a situation, tomorrow's meeting also cannot bring any special result.
At this time this movement is not good news for anyone. Farmers are trembling with their wife and children and are also agitating. The long run of this movement is gradually affecting the reputation of the Modi government. The government, which gave Rs 6,000 annually to the poor and farmers for free, also failed to stop the farmers from agitating. In such a situation, the government can do lathi on these agitators at any time. Ex- in Bihar, this peasant movement was suppressed on the strength of sticks by Bihar government. However, the Modi’s government is still trying to convince these farmers. Giving positive signal to the farmers, the government said on Monday that both sides want to resolve the matter as soon as possible. But due to the involvement of people of different ideology in these meetings, the meeting becomes disinterested.
To convince the agitating farmers, the Modi government has been continuously giving its arguments so that the peasants will give up their stubbornness and end the agitation and go home. The government believes that all three new agricultural laws are in the interest of farmers, whenever a good step is taken, there are hurdles and there is a delay in resolving the matter because the farmer leaders want a solution on their own which is not possible. A committee constituted by the Supreme Court for the purpose of resolving the matter is also reported to be involved in the next one between the farmers and the government.
