What has happened to the Bhagat Singh's sons? The government is not ready to listen to them and these people have been agitating for the farmers of the country since 54 days near Delhi. These farmers are agitating for the abolition of three agricultural laws brought by Narendra Modi. But in all these days, the government has been saying here that this law has been made for the farmers of the country, it cannot be abolished at the behest of the farmers of Punjab. The agitating farmers talk to the government with some other amendment proposals, if the case can be resolved. Now even in the media, whispers have started against the farmer’s movement.
The Union Agriculture Minister of India, while replying to the Kisan movement, says that the Supreme Court has stopped the implementation of the laws then I understand that there is no question of stubbornness. We expect farmers to discuss each clause on January 19. And farmers should not talk about repealing the laws, but what other option they want, try to put it before the government. He further goes on to explain to the farmers that most of the farmers, scholars, scientists and people working in agriculture agree with these laws.
The Union Agriculture Minister, while explaining to the agitating farmers near Delhi, makes his argument that when the Government of India enacts a law, it is for the whole country and these laws do not cause problems for all the farmers of the country. The Government of India has held talks with the Farmers Union not once but for 9 hours. We have consistently urged the farmers union to discuss the law clause and state where there is objection, the government is ready to consider and amend it but the farmer is not ready to negotiate on this issue.
The Indian Farmers Union says that the agitating farmers have nothing less than the approval of the three new agricultural laws brought by the government. The farmers union has to reply to the government in its argument that it will discuss the clause which needs to be amended in the law. But the question of all us farmers is that all three laws should be abolished. The government will have to abolish these three laws. Around 10 rounds of talks have been held with the government and farmers, but the government is in talks with all of us farmers, keeping their completely obstinate attitude.
Rakesh Tikait, the National Spokesperson of the Bharatiya Kisan Union, said on Sunday that the farmers' movement on the borders of Delhi is an 'ideological revolution' which aims to agitate till the government's new three agricultural laws are abolished if the government withdraws all three laws. Otherwise, this movement can go on till May 2024 against the new agricultural laws of the Center.
