Congress did not even take action, while our government takes prompt action - Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav.
In Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh, the number of children dying from cough syrup consumption has reached double figures. The doctor prescribed the cough syrup, and the children's parents gave it to the children, resulting in their deaths.
It is being reported that the children fell asleep after consuming the cough syrup. The Madhya Pradesh government has taken swift action in this entire matter. Strict legal action has been taken against the doctor and the pharmaceutical company.
Regarding this entire matter, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav told the media that due to the incident involving cough syrup, we have also banned the Tamil Inspect medicines.
Dr. Mohan Yadav clearly told the media that the law will take strict action against all those involved in this incident. No culprit will be spared.
The company that manufactured the syrup is from Tamil Nadu. Their medicines have been banned. The Tamil Nadu government has also acknowledged that objectionable activities were taking place where these medicines were being manufactured.
The Chief Minister stated that this is a matter of human life, and our government will not tolerate negligence involving human life.
From a humanitarian perspective, we will not tolerate any kind of negligence. Especially, if such a thing happens to small children, it is very sad. We are visiting Chhindwara today. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav expressed hope that the opposition Congress party will support the government in this matter.
He said, "In this time of grief, I would also like to tell the Congress party that it is easy to make baseless allegations. Their lightness can distract law and order from such matters. Congress should recall past incidents during their rule. They did not even take action, whereas our government takes prompt action."
