In view of the unpleasant incidents carried out by wild animals on humans in
the forest, the government has promised to give ₹ 6,00,000 to the victim's

On 26th July, a wild elephant crushed Salik Ram Topo who was
going towards the village, due to which he died.
News has come to light that the six wives of the deceased
have put up a claim to get the amount of ₹ 6,00,000 given by the government as
compassionate compensation to the family of a Chhattisgarh resident killed by a
wild elephant.
They have come from Sitapur area, which means they are saying
that he has five wives and we all are claimants to him.
The news of Salik Ram's death due to elephant attack in
Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh has taken a new turn. On 26th July, Salik Ram
Topa was working in the field in Chimtapani village of Pathalgaon forest range
in Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh. While working in the field, a wild
elephant attacked him, killing him instantly.
According to the government, ₹6,00,000 has been announced as
compassionate amount to Salik Ram, Topa's wife and their children who lost
their lives due to wild animal attack. Six women came forward in front of the
officials to receive this amount.
On this entire matter, the officer said that they have come
from Sitapur area, who are saying that he has five wives and we are all
claimants to him. They are saying this but according to us it is not legitimate
and whoever gets the heir certificate through the Sarpanch, we will consider it
legal and take further action.
