The Bihar Police have rescued 17 minor girls from a trafficking network.
The Bihar Police have rescued 17 minor girls from a trafficking network. In total, over the past few months, 162 minor girls have been freed from such rings by the Bihar Police.
The operation was initiated based on information received by the commission about minor girls being forcibly taken into these activities and also about wrongdoers.
Based on this information, police teams conducted raids at various locations, in two police station areas during the night, leading to the rescue of the 17 minors.
Efforts are underway to contact the families of the rescued girls and facilitate their return home. Legal aid will also be provided to them.
Among the 17 rescued minors, eight from West Bengal, four from Odisha, two from Jharkhand, two from Delhi, and one from Bihar.
The police superintendent mentions that they are continuously working to raise awareness among people about these issues through a project called 'Aabaj Do'. He encourage people to report any suspicious activities without fear, as we are always ready to take action.
