Some farmers have decided to throw away onions for free, while some have decided to feed them to animals

The trouble for farmers has increased due to the low prices of onions in the market. Some farmers have decided to distribute to public onions for free, while some have decided to feed it to animals.
Onion farmers have come to the market with onions to increase their income. Here, the price of a farmer's onion has been fixed at 1 rupee 10 paise per kilo.

As one farmer tells us, a farmer who came to sell his onions in the market said "we have come to the market with 2 quintals of onion. Just, the cost of bringing onion from the field to the market, including transportation,  is 7000 rupees. And in the market, our onion has been priced in such a way, you cant't belived".

He says that there are three farmers who harvest our onions, and the total value of the produce is 3,500 rupees. And the cost of bringing it to market is 7,000 the rent for the vehicle.

At present, onion farmers are in a difficult situation. The condition of all onion farmers is bad. Farmers have come to sell their produce in the market with the aim of increasing their income. But there is a lot of loss in selling the Onion in  Market. Onion is being sold in the market at a price that is 30% less than the cost of production. Farmers are getting one rupee per kilo.

The price of onions in the market has been fixed at 30 rupee 40rupee per kilo. However the farmers are selling their Onions at just 1 Rupee  10 paisa per kilo , which is 300%-400% less than the actual price. Farmers are suffering direct losses. From bringing the onion from the field to the market, including transportation, there are also costs involved. Traders are earning 300 %- 400% or 30 to 40 times profit from the farmers' onions.
